Bremerhaven. (bm) Automated packaging, confectioning and distribution has a special meaning in Covid-19 pandemic. Suddenly much larger quantities have to be moved. Occupational safety for the workforce must be additionally supported. Hygienic protection has always and everywhere top priority. The Finnish company Cimcorp Oy reports how all this works. It has ensured that everything continues to run like clockwork at Kwik Trip’s largely automated bakery in La Crosse, Wisconsin, where output has tripled thanks to Covid-19. The bakery measures 18,580 square meters in total. 53,000 trays with fresh baked bread and buns leave the facility each day and are delivered to 700 stores. Other topics:
